Tour programI offer you a special, medium-difficulty tour in the valley of the Shushica River, following the footsteps of an ancient caravan route!
Departure from the accommodation around 9-10 am, then a short stop for a coffee, or we can even have an authentic Albanian breakfast in a small village, where the elderly spend their time in the shade of the hundred-year-old plane tree in the main square of the village. During our trip, we visit the waterfall restaurant where a leisurely lunch or just a refreshing drink is a truly pleasant experience at the tables built between the waterfalls.
Of course, there is a photo opportunity on request on the serpentine roads of the picturesque landscape.
Arrival in the river valley at approximately 1 pm.
After leaving the parked car, you need to have enough drinking water in your backpack and clothing suitable for swimming. Sports shoes are essential during the tour, because we descend into the river valley on a path trodden by animals. (Approximately 20-30 minutes)
A magnificent panorama opens up before us as we see the 16th century Ottoman bridge.
Crossing the bridge, which was once a caravan route and spanned the Shushica Valley, we continue down a narrow path, down to the water, where bathing is a great experience, while the 16th century bridge towers above us.
The return journey takes place after 1-2 hours of bathing. The riverbed is pebbly, more pleasant in water shoes. It is worth bringing a piece of chocolate or biscuits, as well as drinking water, because this is truly a wild adventure, just up in the parking lot.
After that, we visit a suspension bridge, which is a real test of courage to cross!
On the way back, we have the opportunity to have dinner in Piqeras at the Taverna Viktoria, which has a magnificent sea panorama.
Arrival back at the accommodation in the evening.
