Tour program

I recommend a full-day canyon tour, which is mostly done comfortably by car (partly on foot), and leads through the sonorous-named “Kurvelesh” region.

Departure from the accommodation around 9-10 am,
Our first short stop is a breakfast and coffee break, then continuing into the mountains we will see the Ali Pasa aqueduct system.

Then we visited a local cheese factory where there is an opportunity to taste and buy locally made cheese. The raw material is milk purchased from the livestock of the surrounding shepherds.

There are countless opportunities to take photos, drink water from mountain streams, and buy medicinal herbs and teas along the way. Not to mention that the animals crossing our path constantly force us to slow down, which we don't mind at all - because here there is a feeling of "time standing still".

At our next stop, we descend lower and lower with our backpacks, walking through a  gully (only in hiking or sports shoes). It's good if we have drinking water and maybe a few snacks, because we will see a waterfall!  If there is enough water in the upper section, it is worth visiting the lower section as well.

In the canyon by car  Continuing on, our journey takes us through local villages that are famous for their traditionally fortified houses with no windows on the ground floor, as blood feuds were common in the area in the past.

After that, we arrive at the highest village in Kurvelesh province. As if hanging in the air, the village is located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level on the Këndrevica mountain, offering a magnificent view!

Here, a traditional late afternoon lunch is available in a local hut! (The latter must be ordered in advance if there is a demand, but it is highly recommended)
Lunch is oven-roasted lamb with potatoes, fried vegetables, salads, local bread, and burek! Everything is homemade, locally made!

On the way home we will return to Saranda on the Riviera, taking sunset photos in Qeparo or some other pleasant place on the way.

Casual clothing is necessary! If someone does not want to walk the entire gorge, then they do not need to wear anything very sporty (in that case, slippers and light sports shoes will be enough)

Arrival in Saranda in the evening

The tour is all day long

Difficulty level is medium
Suggested use of sports shoes

Price: 180€/tour
