We love Saranda all day

Tour program

This program offers a full-day excursion.

It introduces Saranda and nearby attractions, the crowning of which is a late afternoon dinner in an authentic Albanian family farm restaurant.

Let's see the daily program in order.

The first half of the day is based on #Csakvelem 3, i.e. in Saranda we visit the Bekhtasi sanctuary, then we go up to Lekurësi Castle, (photos and detailed description under #Csakvelem 3.program item) from there to the ruins of the Monastery of the 40 Saints, which was built in the 6th century AD and was probably the most important pilgrimage site in the Ionian Sea region for at least a millennium. The name Saranda also originates from here.

Then we continue to Albania's oldest surviving mosque, Rusan, located in the Delvina basin.

From here we drive between charming Albanian villages, gaining a glimpse into rural life, here and there herds of goats and sheep slow down our journey, then along the Bistrica we visit the Blue Eye spring. (description under #Csakvelem3 program point)

Late in the afternoon, when we are sufficiently hungry, we visit an authentic farm restaurant, where we have the opportunity to glimpse into the mysteries of organic crop production, and walk among olive groves and grape arbors to taste the fruits that are currently in season.
