In search of thermal springs

Tour program

We will explore a fantastic landscape on a full-day tour.
Departing from the accommodation in the morning, we will drive for a while along the Bistrica River.

We will head to the Drino River Valley to a settlement whose origins date back to the 7th century BC.

The town is known for its picturesque beauty, traditional architecture and historical significance, and has a rich cultural heritage.
One of its notable features is the traditional stone architecture, which is typical of the entire region. The city is also known for its natural beauty, and is a quiet, charming place for those interested in the history and landscapes of Albania.

In the middle of the landscape surrounded by olive groves, there are the remains of the strategically located fortress of Ali Pasha Tepelena's sister, as well as an Albanian kulla, where members of the endangered family fled from blood feuds.

In the center of the town, it is nice to rest in the shade of the legendary plane tree, which is around 560 years old, has a trunk circumference of 7 meters and a canopy covering 1100 square meters.
Lord Byron and the famous travel chronicler Evlia Celebiu also enjoyed its shade and Albanian hospitality!
Currently, there is a restaurant and café here, with small waterfalls and streams dividing the terrace, cooling off in the hot summer heat.

More Starting in the Vjosë River Valley, we head towards Përmet, also known as the "city of roses" due to the abundance of wild roses that grow in the region. Known for its stunning natural beauty, the landscape offers many attractions, including rugged mountains, rivers and lush green landscapes.
We will briefly stop to visit a Greek Eastern Orthodox monastery.

Përmet, Albania is known for its natural hot springs. These healing springs are located in a beautiful gorge along the Vjosë River, surrounded by stunning mountains and forests.

The canyon is formed by the Langarica River, which over time has carved deep gorges and dramatic cliffs, creating a spectacular landscape. One of the most beautiful and striking geological formations in Albania is located here, including one of the most significant and best-preserved bridges of Ottoman architecture in the region.
In the immediate vicinity of the Kadiut Bridge
the waters are rich in minerals and have been used for centuries for their healing properties.

The braver can take a 1-2 hour hike in the gorge, while the rest can take a dip in one of the thermal pools.
